SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Allred Brothers are coming back for a fireworks show in Gering this Friday.

With the coronavirus pandemic in place, there are a few restrictions.

The show itself will begin around 9:00pm on Friday, July 3rd at the Five Rocks Amphitheater.

The show should last about an hour.

Gates will open at 6:00pm with live remote and music being offered from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

The Gering Booster Club will be providing concessions.

The City of Gering will be on scene helping with parking and crowd control.

Normally, the Amphitheater can hold about 3,500 people.

With restrictions only allowing 75% capacity, this will allow about 2,200 people.

There can be no more than eight people in a group and you must social distance.

There will be in car viewing and tailgating offered in the parking lot.

Parking and seating will also be available at Kahuna Park which is adjacent from the Amphitheater.

“This is going to be one of the first holidays we can enjoy since COVID-19 has started,” said Justin Allred, Show Organizer. “I think with the social distancing that is in place and the large enough venue, people should feel safe. If they don’t, they do have that option to stay in their car.”

The only difference between this show and the last one put on in 2018 is the arrangements of the fireworks.

These fireworks are commercial Class C that are purchased from Discount Fireworks.

For those that are afraid of fireworks, Allred says to wear ear muffs and know that the show is very much spaced out.

Allred is most excited about the crowd’s reaction.

“Getting reactions from the crowd gives us more motivation to out-due ourselves each year but you know it’s more of a community event,” explained Allred. “It’s more of being able to provide that celebration for the community.”

The show is free for the public.

Allred thanks their Platinum sponsors including Bytes Computer and Network Solutions, Discount Fireworks, Allstate Insurance Engelhaupt, Kilthau Transports,, Platte Valley Companies, Runza Restaurants and SJS Consulting.

Allred also thanks his Grand sponsors including Deines Irrigation and Fremount Motors.
