Pioneers fall in extra innings to Hastings on Tuesday

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Western Nebraska Pioneers had two three run leads erased on Tuesday only to see Hastings come from behind to pick up a 9-7 extra inning win on Tuesday.

Pioneers opened the contest strong scoring three runs in the second inning to lead 3-0. Hastings answered with a two run third inning to close to within in one.

Both teams would trade two runs in the third and fourth innings to go into the final innings with the Pioneers leading. However Hastings pushed across a run in the 7th and two in the 8th to tie the game at seven.

The game would go into the tenth tied before Hastings sealed the win with a two run inning. Pioneers fall to 12-19 on the season while Hastings improves to 16-13.
