CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Monday afternoon, the Mountain West Conference has announced the cancellation of its 2020 football season. According to several sources, the Mountain West acted as the other FBS school to call off their seasons. Many football optimists held hope the season could take place. The conference says it may play games in the spring, however that has to be determined.

Recently, the revised plan for the fall season released. It outlined a ten-game schedule. This plan would allow the likes of the Air Force to play its non-conference opponents in the Army and Navy.

It is unclear at the moment what the Power 5 Conferences will do. Reports indicate the Big-10 Conference votes to move fall sports to the spring.

The University of Wyoming saw two of its early games canceled due to the Pac-12 announcing its conference only schedule. Ball State was the season opener for the Pokes on September 26th, and that game is now no more.

The new question for the NCAA will be if student-athletes will report to campus if there sport in which pays for their schooling isn’t going on?
