A call came in long after 7:20pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020 regarding a single vehicle rollover resulting in a fire along Highway 71, south of Harrisburg, Nebraska.

The car landed in the embankment, spreading a small fire along the grass line.

Witnesses to the crash tell a reporter with NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff that the driver of the sedan was swerving, seemingly to avoid debris in the roadway. That is when the female driver overcorrected, flipped and rolled several times into the embankment.

Multiple units and over 30 crews responded to the fiery incident.

At this time officials are investigating the cause of the crash. It is confirmed that there were at least two people within the vehicle and the names of the victims will not be provided at this time.

The driver of the sedan, a female, was pronounced deceased on arrival (D.O.A). The passenger, a male, sustains minor injuries and was treated at Regional West Medical Center and later released.
