Two former WNCC basketball players set to square off in Husker season opener Wednesday

Student athletes Dru Kuxhausen and Teddy Allen to open season in Lincoln.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Two former Western Nebraska Community College men’s basketball players set to square off in Lincoln on Wednesday. As Nebraska and McNeese State will meet in the season opener for both teams.

Scottsbluff grad Dru Kuxhausen and Teddy Allen both had success playing for the Cougars and now playing on the Division One level.

Kuxhausen is a senior student athlete at McNeese State in Louisiana. He enters the season a preseason all conference pick and coming off a season in which he was one of the top three point shooters in the country. Last season he shot a little over 45 percent from the three point line. Kuxhausen will be a part of a solid back court that will give the Cowboys a chance in every game.

Meanwhile Allen is set to start his junior season and first with the Huskers. Allen is coming off a season at WNCC in which he led the nation in scoring for junior college players at 31 points per game.

Tip off set for 10am MST and will air on the Big Ten Network.
