SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Police have arrested a 54-year-old Scottsbluff man for the murder of a 23-year-old Scottsbluff male, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department Saturday.

Gregory Scott Moore, 54, has been arrested for 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. The victim has been identified as Fernando Camacho-McBride, 23, also of Scottsbluff.

Moore was first contacted at 122 E15th St. in Scottsbluff Wednesday morning, when officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check on him, Scottsbluff Police Chief Kevin Spencer said in a press release Saturday.

When Scottsbluff Police arrived at the apartment, Moore wasn’t alone --they found Camacho-McBride deceased at the scene. Police obtained a search warrant for the property and initiated a homicide investigation Wednesday afternoon.

An autopsy was preformed Saturday morning, according to Scottsbluff Police. Results and evidence collected throughout the ongoing investigation will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office.
