SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Gering Finance Director Renae Jimenz sent in her resignation letter to the city on Monday at the City Council meeting.

City officials would not disclose as to why she resigned. Jimenez has served Gering since July 2019. The position of finance director requires an interview process and the mayor must then make a formal recommendation to the city council for appointment.

“You know being a sister city there’s different qualifications and requirements needed for municipalities,” says Mayor Tony Kaufman of Gering. “They have a finance director and they have a support staff we also have a team as well but they they need some guidance and direction so they’ll provide in an interim capacity.”
