SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Twin Cities Development applies for The Rural Workforce Housing Fund for Scotts Bluff, Morrill, and Kimball Counties.

The Rural Workforce Housing Fund is administered by the Nebraska legislature to create more housing units in the state. The state has set aside $10 million dollars in funding.

The greater Scottsbluff area will compete with other communities throughout the state for this money. The state will award the grant money in May.

“The goal is to have a revolving loan fund that we can loan out to builders and developers to create housing in Western Nebraska,” said Rawnda Pierce Executive Director Twin Cities Development. “The money will go out to the builders and the contractors it will be a favorable interest rate a little less paper work. The idea is to revolve that money so that we keep creating more housing for years and years into the future.”
