Nebraska Strong promotes Random Acts of Kindness Day throughout the Panhandle
Westway Christian Church and many other local organizations participate
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) -Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day as Nebraska Strong is promoting this event throughout the panhandle with businesses, non-profits and churches.
“We heard about Random Acts of Kindness Day from Nebraska Strong,” said John Mulholland Senior Pastor Westway Christian Church. “It was just like so what can we do? We came up with the idea of kind of a pay it forward run a tab day over at the Mixing Bowl. People could pick up coffee get a meal and then get a surprise that someone else is paying for it.”
“It’s a pretty good feeling to see that people somebody else paid for their food,” said Jamie Meisner Owner The Mixing Bowl. “We even had a few people that added to the tab themselves to keep it going.
“They were of course happy to do it as a local business especially over the last year with all the things that have happened with COVID,” said Mulholland. “I know they were happy to participate I stopped in their earlier today they said things were going great. A person I talked to said I love telling people that their meal is covered I love being the giver of good news.”
“Well they decided to come in again today and they upped to five hundred dollars,” said Meisner. “We were able to pay it forward to for a lot more people.”
