SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) -The 23 Club Baseball Sports Complex is under renovation. They receive generous donations throughout the community and to top it off they go over the one million dollar mark in donations.”

“You know it feels phenomenal!,” said Geoff Nemnich President 23 Club Baseball Organization. “This has been a long time coming we’ve been after this project now since 2017 working with the city, working with area contractors and are donors. Yeah it feels great we’ve came a long way still a little work to do but we’re getting there.”

“When we heard about this project we knew it was something that we wanted to be very much involved in,” said Zac Karpf President Plate Valley bank Nebraska. “It’s a program that impacts a lot of people in our community especially youth which is always important I think to make sure that we have a lot of programs that keep youth active and engaged. This is a very easy yes for us.”

The 23 Club said the project costs just under $ 2 million dollars and the City of Scottsbluff has put money into it as well. The complex will have many upgrades including new built in bleacher seats and a batting cage complex.

“Early on Platte Valley Companies and First State Bank came on board with a $100,000 sponsorships to name the fields,” said Nemnich. “B&C Steel has been a huge part of this from the get go they recently just donated all the buildings to this complex they’re actually going to be the third field sponsor. WESTCO came on board just about a month and half ago and they actually took the fourth field sponsor so those large donations really helped quite a bit.”

“I think it’s important to have very visibly upgraded facilities they can help attract people to the area. When people come to the area they’re thinking about moving here so that’s important,” said Karpf. “Most of all it’s just a place for our local residents and citizens to be able to use the facility that’s in a very nice condition.”

23 Club said the target date for completion will be on June 1.
