SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners votes unanimously to move forward to repair Stegall Road.

The original cost of the project is just over $1.6 million dollars and Simon Contractors will take on the duties of repairing the road. The board is reducing the cost with a change order to use fiber mat insulation. The county will save $188,000 dollars using fiber mat for the road.

“We had we asked for a change order for the fiber mat to be replaced instead of the structural mat that was we would learn that was not recyclable,” said Russ Reisig County Commissioner Scotts Bluff County. We didn’t want to have a mat in there that would cause problems down the road for future commissioners. We wanted a recyclable product in here and that also saved us $188,000dollars. We feel it was the right thing to do.”
