City of Chadron searches for a new city manager
The search is down to ten candidates
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The City of Chadron has been without a permanent city manager since this past December and is now in the process of finding one.
Chadron City officials said they began with 30 candidates and have narrowed it down to ten. Next Monday March 22 at a special council meeting they will narrow it down to four or five candidates. The city manager is responsible for feeding information to residents and city council. The interview process is very thorough.
“Trying to get an understanding of their background their philosophy and would they fit in Chadron Nebraska. We had applicants from Alaska and Austin, TX,” said Mark Werner Mayor of Chadron. “We really wanted to make sure that they had been in a small town and understand our climate our type of people.”
Chadron City officials said Milo rust currently serves as interim city manager. The final candidates will be interviewed in town two weeks after the special meeting on Monday.
