White team beats Red team on final play at Nebraska Spring Game
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- A Wyatt Liewer touchdown reception as time expired, followed by a Tyler Crawford made extra-point attempt, gave the White Team a 21-20 win over the Red Team at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Freshman quarterback Heinrich Haarberg found Liewer in the corner of the end zone to cap an edge-of-your-seat final drive at Nebraska’s Spring Game. Haarberg finished with 121 passing yards.
Veteran quarterback Adrian Martinez completed 12 of 20 pass attempts for 127 yards. Marvin Scott, Yaquez Yant, Isaiah Harris, and Brody Belt each had rushing TDs in the game.
Nebraska’s Red vs. White scrimmage was played in front of 36,406 fans on a sun-filled Saturday in Lincoln.
