SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP)- Scotts Bluff County Health Officials said this is the first business block party for COVID vaccinations. They team up with Region 22 using their mobile command center to take a tour of the town to reach those who could not get to a clinic.

“We realize now that mass clinics and the big numbers are dying down,” said Paulette Schnell Scotts Bluff County Director. “We are to the place where people who might be still interested but it’s just really hard for them to get off work to come afterwards or weekends.”

“Yeah I like this setup it keeps you at work it keeps you going with everybody’s busy lifestyle,” said Matthew Cerny Employee Floyd’s Truck Service. “If you find a way to get a shot.”

“We want to make it convenient and we are seeing that today,” said Schnell. “We’re having a great turnout of a lot of people who said it’s just been really hard for them to do it or have decided today’s the day cause we’re here.”

Scotts Bluff County Health Officials said they are looking to branch out with the mobile unit to other communities and encourage residents to get vaccinated.

“There’s a lot of places where there is not a real good place to set up something like this,” said Tim Newman Emergency Management Director Region 22. “If we can bring it to to them set up in a parking lot somewhere bring out some tables and chairs that makes a big difference. Some of the smaller towns are quite a ways out from Scottsbluff Gering area we want to be able to bring the vaccines to them.”

“I would just encourage people we want to get back to normal we want to be doing the things that we want to do,” said Schnell. “Doing them without having to worry about COVID and spreading it so I think this is one of our best tools right now is to get the vaccine. If you see us come get it and we’ll be reaching out to a town or a business near you.”

Scotts Bluff County Health Officials said on Wednesday May 19 they will administer the Pfizer vaccine at the Morrill Clinic from 4:30 P.M.-6:30 P.M. The mobile unit will be out in Lyman at Kirk Manufacturing on May 20 at 9:30 A.M. No appointments are needed.
