PRESCOTT, Ari. (KNEP) - The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team exciting postseason run came to an end on Friday in the district finals.

Cougars opened the tournament with a 13-4 loss to Central Arizona on Thursday, had to beat Southern Nevada in an elimination game on Friday.

The nationally ranked Coyotes had to much firepower down the stretch as they came from behind to defeat Western Nebraska 13-3. Cougars came out strong taking a 1-0 lead to start the game. However Southern Nevada answered with eight runs over the first two innings to take the lead and they never looked back.

Michael Felton and Jordan Rollins both finished with two hits for the Cougars in the contest. WNCC ends the 2021 season at 26-29.
