NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Stormy conditions have finally settled across Nebraska but with this came cooler temperatures. We stay slightly cooler through Memorial Day.

Cloud coverage will clear as we head into Friday with mostly sunny skies and highs still sitting well below average for this time of the year. Severe weather should not be a threat on Friday and winds will die back down.

Dry weather is forecast for Friday, but unfortunately into the holiday weekend, more rain is expected as we head into Saturday night, Sunday, and even into Memorial Day on Monday. Along with the threat for rain, there will be the threat for heavy rains at times this weekend too. If you have outdoor plans for the holiday weekend, this will be a forecast worth watching over the coming days as you may need to change your plans for this weekend.

On Tuesday temperatures finally warm back into the 70s and by Thursday we should be near the 80s again.
