Less heat and humidity for Friday; Sunny and dry pattern
The heat returns by the start of the next workweek
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The hottest, most humid weather of the summer will come to an end as a cold front raced across the region Thursday night. Almost all of the severe storms remained well off to our north, but the front flipped the winds to a cooler NNW direction.
It will be breezy to windy today with a lot less heat and humidity. Much more pleasant weather is on tap for Friday with highs around 80° as we will be back to sunshine. Saturday looks great with plenty of sunshine and seasonal temperatures in the mid-80s. On Sunday we’ll get back into the lower 90s, again under mostly sunny skies.
For the workweek ahead, we will have a lot of sunshine, and our dry and hot weather pattern remains. Highs will remain in the 90s (with some areas in the Panhandle above 100) with partly cloudy to sunny skies for the Monday through Thursday timeframe. We will also have very little chances for moisture through next week.
