East All Stars earn double wins at West Nebraska All Star Games

East defeats West in both football and volleyball contests.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The 2021 West Nebraska All Star Games wrapped up on Saturday in Scottsbluff with a lot of fun and excitement.

The 37th Annual Volleyball All-Star Game saw the East All Stars claim the win 3 sets to 2 win over the West All-Stars.

East clinched the match thanks to winning the first three sets of the contest. West All-Stars got on the board thanks to winning sets four and five of the contest.

Mullen Grad Sam Moore led the way for the East with double digit kills on the night. She would claim Most Valuable Player honors for the East squad.

WNCC recruit and Ogallala graduate Jenna Curtis was claimed Most Valuable Player honors for the West squad.

The 43rd annual Football All-Star Game saw the East All Stars pick up a 35-6 win over the West All-Stars.

Both teams played strong defense to start the game as it was scoreless going late into the 1st Quarter.

The East earned the first score thanks to a Alex Ramos touchdown run. The West responded behind a Brett Hill to Alex Henke touchdown pass in the second quarter to make the score 7-6.

However the East scored a key touchdown right before the half as Carter Bose found Clayton Berry to make the score 14-6 at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter the East All-Stars pushed across two more touchdowns as Southern Valley’s duo of Bose and Berry connected again with a touchdown pass and Bose took a quarterback run the distance.

Ramos scored his second touchdown of the day in the 4th quarter to make the score 35-6.

Carter Bose was named Offensive Most Valuable Player of the contest while Carson Rhode of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was named Defensive Most Valuable Player.
