Governor Ricketts announces the end of the state of emergency for Coronavirus
Expires on June 30
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Governor Pete Ricketts announces today the end of the Coronavirus state of emergency in Nebraska.
Ricketts said it will expire this Wednesday along with social distance guidelines. Schools will be open for face to face learning without a mandatory mask requirement. The decision is based on declining virus related hospitalizations.
“It’s time for people to get back to normal understanding the virus is going to continue to be in our community forever. So please get that vaccine,” said Ricketts. “Please continue to practice all the good habits with regard to washing your hands and staying home when you’re sick. That is all going to continue to be important, but we need to get back to normal here as well.”
