SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - It’s that time of the year that is familiar to Nebraskans, the Edible Bean Harvest. Nebraska Extension in the Panhandle says the crops in the area are in good condition. The estimate this year is around 2,400 pounds per acre and 40 bushels per acre. In 2020 Nebraska ranked number one in great northern bean production. Also at number two in pinto and light red kidney bean production. One hundred and fifty eight point four million dollars is added to the state economy courtesy of Dry Edible Bean Production.
