A New Program at the Gering Library
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Gering Library is hosting an adults with special needs program called Adult Learners at the Library. This once a month program is about 45 minutes to an hour long. The people who attend this program get to listen to a guest speaker, do crafts, and get a snack at the end. This week’s topic was all about health and what foods are good for your body. Each month there are different topics that are taught and the craft and snack relate to the theme. Sherry Preston, the founder of the program, says, “we would have groups of adults with developmental disabilities would show up at the library and just kind of wonder around, and i always thought it would be nice if we knew when they would be coming to do something for them.”
