Potter Dix earns Class D6 State Runner Up

Coyotes fall to Cody Kilgore in title game 65-37 to wrap up season.

KEARNEY, Neb. (KNEP) - The Potter Dix football team saw their historic undefeated run come an end on Friday in the Class D6 State Championship Game falling to Cody Kilgore 65-37.

Coyotes opened the contest in a big way as Luke Kasten ran it 49 yards to give Potter Dix an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.

Cody Kilgore though answered as Peyton Sterkel scored one of his five rushing touchdowns. Sterkel would end up rushing for 240 yards on 26 carries. He would also score a defensive touchdown in the contest. Cowboys as a team would rush for 444 yards.

Potter Dix was led by Thomas Muldoon who catch 8 passes for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns. Coyotes season comes to an end at 11-1.
