Scottsbluff police respond to a disturbance call that leads to various charges against a local resident

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Scottsbluff Police Department responded to a disturbance call on Avenue R.

When they arrived they were advised that 43 year-old Kurt Martinez was on scene at the residence that has a protection order in place on him.

On arrival police said that Martinez was yelling at the resident.

Court documents state that when Martinez was approached by the police he started to run away.

During the chase police grabbed him by his arms, but Martinez ended up pushing one of the officers down to the ground during the flee.

Martinez ran across the street into a residence to get away from police.

During his time inside the home a 10 year-old child was screaming out of fear of him being there.

He was arrested for Protection Order Violation, Resisting Arrest, Child Abuse, Trespassing, and Assault on a Officer.
