SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (Press Release) - On May 17, 2022 at approximately 7:50pm the Scottsbluff Police Department was dispatched to the area of South Street in Terrytown regarding the report of possible gun shot. Scottsbluff Police responded to the area and established a perimeter.

The reporting party said that they had seen three males running from the area north of South Street near the North Platte River.

Two of the males were described as wearing dark clothing and the third as wearing grey clothing.

The area was searched on foot by responding law enforcement for an hour.

No suspects or evidence of a firearm being discharged was located.

Officers spoke to several citizens along the river that were in the area when the noise was reported.

None of the citizens contacted reported hearing a loud noise. Officers then conducted a neighborhood canvas of South Street.

No one along South Street reported hearing a loud noise.

The Scottsbluff Police Department was assisted by the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office and the National Park Service Law Enforcement Rangers.
