WNCC Women’s Head Basketball Coach Leaving After Six Seasons
Chad Gibney taking a position at Division One St. Bonaventure in New York.
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Western Nebraska Community currently in search for a new head women’s basketball coach. That’s because current head coach Chad Gibney is stepping down.
Gibney announcing he is taking a position at Division One St. Bonaventure University in New York to become an assistant coach on the women’s staff.
Gibney has coached the Lady Cougars for six seasons guiding them to the national tournament six times.
His teams have been ranked in the top 25 nationally all six years during his tenure. This past season the Lady Cougars advanced all the way to the national semi-finals before falling to eventual national champions Tyler JC.
Western Nebraska will hope to name a new women’s head basketball coach sometime next week.
