Wyoming All Stars Pick Up Win In Six Man All Star Football Game

Team Wyoming breaks 14-14 tie with two late 2nd quarter touchdowns to take lead for good.

CHADRON, Neb. (KNEP) - The annual Battle for The Border Six Man All Star Football Game brought the top six man graduated seniors from the state of Nebraska and Wyoming together for one final game. The 11th annual event was held in Nebraska this year and on the campus of Chadron State College.

In the end the Wyoming All Stars held off the Nebraska All-Stars 68-44. Team Wyoming broke a late 14-14 tie in the second quarter with a touchdown and then a pick six touchdown and two point conversion to lead 30-16 at halftime.

Team Nebraska answered back with two touchdowns of their own in third quarter to cut the lead to two. But Team Wyoming pushed the lead back to ten with a touchdown and two point conversion. The fourth quarter saw Team Wyoming add three more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to ice the contest.

The win breaks a 5-5 tie between the two states in six man all star game wins.

Local players Michael Sanderson (Sioux County), Thomas Muldoon (Potter Dix), and Jared Anton (Potter Dix) were all on the roster for the Nebraska All Stars.

All Star football action continues Saturday, June 4 for the Nebraska Shrine Bowl in Kearney. Local players Chance Symons (Scottsbluff), Trevor Schwartz (Scottsbluff), and Dawson Dunbar (Chadron) will play for the North All Stars in the contest.

While the West Nebraska All Star Football Game is set for Saturday, June 11 in Scottsbluff.
