WNCC Names Former Cougar As Head Softball Coach

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Western Nebraska Community College names a new head softball coach for the program. Former Cougar softball record holder and leader Courtney Medina has been named to the position.

Medina replaces Katie Groves who stepped down a couple weeks ago. She will become the fifth head softball coach in school history.

Medina has a successful history at WNCC. Playing two years for the Cougars in 2015 and 2016 and becoming an assistant coach in 2019. All three times she was part of a Region IX title team.

This past season she was an assistant coach under former Cougar Bianca Duran at Colorado State Pueblo.
