East All Stars Have Big Second Half To Earn Victory At Annual West Nebraska All Star Football Game

East All Stars hold on to earn 31-24 win over the West All Stars on Saturday.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The East All Stars able to erase a halftime deficit to defeat the West All Stars 31-24 Saturday at the 44th Annual West Nebraska All Star Football Game at Scottsbluff’s Bearcat Stadium.

West All Stars would take the early lead as Dawson Dunbar (Chadron) scored on a touchdown run to lead 8-0.

After both teams traded big plays in the first half, West All Stars led 14-11 at halftime.

Team East would eventually tie the game at 17 and went up two touchdowns thanks to the arm and running of Nolan Wetovick. The Broken Bow quarterback would throw a touchdown in the second half to lineman Kade Mohr of North Platte and run for a touchdown.

Team West would close to within seven late in the 4th quarter thanks to a Scout Gamble (Leyton) touchdown pass to Tyler Garrett (Gering). Garrett would also throw a touchdown in the game to Potter Dix’s Thomas Muldoon.

East’s Cooper Ray (Hi-Line) was named Offensive Most Valuable Player. While the East’s Keifer Anderson (Broken Bow) was named Defensive Most Valuable Player.

Jackson Ostdiek (Scottsbluff) was named Sportsmanship Award winner for the West All Stars.

While Hayden Foster (Perkins County) and Kolton Hager (Wallace) were Richard Slicker Family Scholarship Award winners.
