West All Stars Earn Win At Annual West Nebraska All Star Volleyball Game

Team West now winners of five out of the last six all star volleyball games.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The West All Stars were able to earn a win on Saturday over the East All-Stars (25-20, 25-18, 28-26, 19-25, 9-15) during the 38th Annual West Nebraska All Star Volleyball Game at WNCC’s Cougar Palace.

Team West came out of the gates strong taking control of set one midway through and earning a 25-20 win.

They kept the momentum going in set two as the height and jumping skill of the West were showcased in the set and the West earned a 25-18 win.

Set three saw the East take the momentum back earning several set points but the West able to answer back and take the set and the match 28-26 in a close one.

The two teams would play two more sets for the all star fans and the East picking up set four 25-19 and set five 15-9.

The West All Stars now winners of five out of the last six years in the volleyball competition.

The West’s Jacey Garrett (Chadron) thanks to her big 32 dig performance from the Libero position was named Team MVP as well as a Richard Slicker Family Scholarship winner. Macey Bosard (Mitchell) added 9 kills for the West in the win. Gabby Caskey (Ogallala) was named the West Sportsmanship Winner.

The East’s Kya Scott (Broken Bow) and Kailyn Scott (Broken Bow) were named Team MVPs for the East. While Jamie Chandler (Anselmo-Merna) was named a Richard Slicker Family Scholarship winner.
