Eastern Wyoming College names new head rodeo coach

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (KNEP) - Eastern Wyoming College names a new head rodeo coach for the upcoming season.

Whit Peterson will replace longtime head coach Jake Clark who retired at the end of this past season.

Peterson is graduate of Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he was a member of the rodeo team.

Peterson also has ties to the Goshen County community. His mother was a member of the EWC staff for over 30 years and he was an agriculture teacher at Lingle Ft. Laramie and Torrington schools.

The new head coach teaks over a program that returns 15 cowboys and cowgirls including one of the top cowgirls in the region Karissa Rayhill. The rodeo season begins in the middle of September.
