SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Governor Pete Ricketts was in Scottsbluff Tuesday to endorse Republican candidate for governor, Jim Pillen.

Gov. Ricketts gave a speech at the Legacy of the Plains Museum to endorse Jim Pillen, and Pillen was there to get on a more personal level with the people of Scottsbluff.

Pillen took questions about how the Scottsbluff area is affected by policies passed in Lincoln. He also talked about how he would keep Nebraskans in Nebraska, how he would change the tax system and how he wants to focus on the education system.

“You can do that right here, you can do that with your school board and your superintendent. You can be the change you want to see, a lot of communities have,” Pillen said.

Democratic candidate Carol Blood will be at the Gering Civic Center on Friday Sept. 9 for people to ask her questions as well.
