Officer attacked with knife; reports of Shots fired in Lyman

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - (Press Release)

At approximately 7:57 pm on Monday September 19, 2022 the Lyman Police Department was

dispatched to the area of Huntley Avenue / West P Street in reference to shots fired in the area.

Lyman Police Officer responded to the area and contacted Jeremy Torres, 36 year old male who resides

at 322 Huntley Avenue Lyman, NE.

The Officer was attacked with a knife by Torres and sustained injures. The Officer was able to detain

Torres until Officers from the Morrill Police Department, Mitchell Police Department and the Scotts Bluff

County Sheriff’s Office arrived for assistance.

Torres was arrested and charged with 1″ degree attempted murder, 1* degree assault on an officer, use

of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and terroristic threats. Torres was transported to the Scotts

Bluff County Detention Center and booked in for the above mentioned charges.
