Two people injured in head-on collision on Highway 26 in Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Scottsbluff Police said two people were injured in a head-on collision on Highway 26 Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1:38 p.m. Scottsbluff police officers responded to an accident east of the intersection between Avenue B and Highway 26.

According to the Scottsbluff Police Department, a Ford Focus driven by a 90-year-old Scottsbluff man lost control, went to into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Sienna driven by a 39-year-old Scottsbluff man.

Police believe a medical emergency was what caused the 90-year-old driver to lose control of his car and drive into the opposite lane.

Both drivers were transported to Regional West Medical Center for various injuries and both vehicles were totaled.
