Nebraska gets ready for Rutgers
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -Interim Coach Mickey Joseph and Husker football players spoke with the media on Monday, prior to their Friday game against Rutgers.
Casey Thompson talked about the game behind the offensive line. Despite the win, Thompson had a few down moments.
During the game, Thompson took a sack in the second quarter. Offensive Coordinator Mark Whipple leaned into Casey on the sidelines after the fact. Thompson was benched while Chubba Purdy took the field. Thompson later made it up on the field, helping the Big Red to a 35-21 win over Indiana.
Joseph gave no comment on the ejection of Turner Corcoran, as he said the Big Ten are still reviewing it.
The Purdue game on Oct. 15 will kick off on the Big Ten Network.
Despite the dominate defensive performance, there will be no black shirts given out this week.
Bryce Benhart and Hunter Anthony will rotate and split time at the right tackle position.
