SECURE Status Lifted at SBPS

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Scottsbluff Police Department received a report of two suspected males in the area West of Scottsbluff High School at 12:06pm, on October 3rd.

Two reports suggested that one of the males may be armed with a handgun, officers search the area for more than two hours and none of the individuals contacted were found to be in possession of firearms.

The Police Department communicated with the school district at approximately 2:00pm that there was no evidence of subjects in or around the school with firearms.

The SECURE Status was then lifted and schools went back to normal scheduling.
