SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Looking to help in the scene of a disaster or property?

American Red Cross is seeking volunteers on October 8th from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Scottsbluff Public Safety building located at: 1801 Avenue B, Scottsbluff for a free training.

Pre-registration is required, and you can do so by contacting Marion McDermott Disaster Program Manager at: (308) 258-1536 or marion.mcdermott@redcross.org

The Bootcamp is a specific training in which all volunteers will compete all trainings to become a Disaster Action Team (DAT) member.

Marion McDermott Disaster Program Manager says “It’s a volunteer role and they set their own schedules so you can be as active as you want or as quiet as you want. What happens is we will get a call when a disaster is happening and we will reach out to the volunteers if they are available they will go and they will always have the option to say I am not available right now.”
