$2 million Dollar building and contents loss in Seagull Rd fire

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Fire crew’s battle a structure fire for approximately one hour and thirty minutes due to heavy fuel loads then getting in the building with heavy equipment to finish off the fire. A total of 35 fire fighters were on scene from Scottsbluff Rural, Scottsbluff, Gering, Airports, Minatare, Morrill, Mitchell, Banner, and Bayard Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire is due to a malfunction in an oil boiler, and the total amount loss is $2 million dollars in building and contents.

The fire started at 6:51am and the scene was cleared at approximately 1:30pm according to Scottsbluff Rural Fire Chief Carissa Schank.
