YMCA to host volleyball fundraiser to help with medical treatment
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The YMCA will be hosting a volleyball tournament to help raise money to help a family pay for medical treatment.
On Saturday and Sunday, the YMCA will be hosting a 6v6 volleyball tournament to raise money for the Selzer family after their youngest son was diagnosed with Leukemia. Registration for the tournament will cost $175 per team and either teams can be women’s or co-ed, with both rosters and money being due by Friday night.
“The purpose to have these tournaments is to get the community involved and to let the families know the community is behind them,” event coordinator Jo Mikesell said.
Half of the money raised will go to the Selzer’s for help with medical treatment in Denver and the other half will be going to the YMCA to help with scholarships for membership.
Tournament play will start at 8:30 a.m. and depending on the amount of teams that sign up a gold, silver, and bronze bracket will take place. For more information about the event people can call 308-635-2318.
