Gering, Neb. (KNEP) - The Gering Public Library will be hosting hosting a free lawn care event on Monday at 6 p.m.

Dr. Emily Stine from the Panhandle Research and Extension Center will be speaking and giving people tips to take care of their lawn for the spring season.

Topics of discussion will include snow mold, winter kill, pruning, garden clean-up and recommended mowing practices, as well as things to watch out for while doing lawn care.

“Snow mold is a particular concern this year because the amount of snow we had this winter, and how long it stayed on lawns.” said Stine.

If people have questions the Gering Library can be contacted at 308-436-7433.
