Western Nebraska Community College set to host Veteran Stand Down

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A Veteran Stand Down will be taking place at Western Nebraska Community College.

On Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John N. Harms Center, veterans and their family will be able to receive help with Veteran Affairs benefits, housing referrals, employment services, legal assistance, readjustment counseling, clothing and a lunch. Both the Black Hills VA and the Cheyenne VA as well as the Western Nebraska Community College TRIO Veterans Upward Bound.

“It’s just a time for all the services that are in the community to come together and then invited veterans to come and check them out,” Western Nebraska Community College Military & Veterans Affairs Advisor Michael Millikin said.

The only requirements to attend this event is veterans will need a copy of their DD214, any dependent information, and Identification. For more questions Millikin can be contacted at 308-635-6152.
