City of Scottsbluff unveils new 18th Street Plaza

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - City of Scottsbluff holds a ribbon cutting to unveil the new 18th Street Plaza.

Construction began back in October of 2022, although the process was in the works longer than that.

The new 18th Street Plaza is open to the public, as today was the grand opening.

City officials say, the community space is available to rent for events such as weddings, fundraiser, and so much more.

Kevin Spencer Scottsbluff City Manager- Chief of Police says “You know we are really excited about this; I think it’s going to be a great edition to the downtown area. Hopefully it will inspire others to have businesses down here or inspire the community to get down here and participate. We will have Bands on Broadway coming up with a total of 8 planned shows throughout the summer. Also starting up soon is the Farmers Market, and look around we got a permanent stage, the arches, it’s right here by Powerhouse Social restaurant, we are really excited about this! We think it’s going to be great for the community and the downtown area.”
