Morgan Baird prepares for upcoming 96th Miss America Contest

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Gering native Morgan Baird (Miss Nebraska) prepares for the upcoming Miss America Contest.

Baird, Community Service Initiative is “Rock the Vote: Building the Political Power of Young People.”

In addition to the upcoming Miss America Contest Baird, will also host a meet and greet fundraiser on Friday, October 6th at Hotel 21 & Co (2605 10th Street, Gering) beginning at 5:00pm.

Ticket prices go as followed, one for ($30) and two for ($50).

Tickets can be purchased at: Midwest Theater, Powerhouse Social, and Valley Auto Locators.

A Silent Auction and Live Auction are all set to take place as well as a Husker Tailgate Party.

Morgan Baird, Miss Nebraska, says, “There are several aspects of the competition that I need to be prepared for like talent, fitness, interview portion so I’m taking each of these separately and trying to make sure my mind and body are at their peak, so I am ready to compete for Miss America. After I was crowned everyone was loud and busy and I heard someone say, from the crowd “You’re going to Miss America” and I’m like I was going to black out! It’s been 10-years since some from this side of the state has been crowned Miss Nebraska so it’s truly an honor to represent not only Nebraska but my small town of Gering on the Miss America stage.”
