Western Community College Area Board of Governors welcomes two new members
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Western Community College Area Board of Governors welcomed two new members at their September regular meeting.
On Wednesday, the WCCA Board of Governors filled the District 1 and District 3 vacancies.
District 1 was filled by Marjorie Schmidt of Gordon, after Kim Marcy resigned in July.
District 3 was filled by Misty Curtis, of Hemingford, after Richard Stickney resigned in July.
Schmidt is a semi-retired medical professional who plays an active role in a large farm and ranch operation near Gordon. Schmidt served in leadership roles at Gordon Memorial Hospital, Pine Ridge IHS Hospital, and is currently the primary care locum tenens for Wapiti Medical Group.
Curtis is the principal of Hemingford High School. Prior to that, she was principal of Gordon-Rushville Middle School. She also has teaching experience dating back to 2006 at Bayard Public Schools, Gering Public Schools, and Laramie County School District No. 2.
