Hay Springs football team set to play for six man state championship in Kearney
Hawks set to play for Class D6 state title against undefeated (11-0) and top seed Sumner-Eddyville-Miller on Friday.
HAY SPRINGS, Neb. (KNEP) - The Hay Springs football team will play for the Class D6 state title against undefeated (11-0) and top seed Sumner-Eddyville-Miller.
The Hawks will be looking for their first ever state championship in school history. It has been a roller coaster of a season for Hay Springs. They would open the season with losses to Paxton, Potter Dix, and Arthur County to start the year 0-3. After that the Hawks would go on a big winning streak not dropping a game since to go into the championship 8-3 overall and winners of eight straight.
Meanwhile S.E.M. have not dropped a game all season in fact, they only had one game including the playoffs that was a single digit win. Kick off set for 6pm MST in Kearney.
