SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Six churches across the panhandle will be collecting shoeboxes full of gifts for children around the world.

From now until Monday, Nov. 20, Mitchell Berean, Trinity UMC in Kimball, Sidney E. Free, Bridgeport Church of Christ, Alliance Berean and the Chadron Ridgeview Bible Church will be collecting shoeboxes full of gifts to give to kids around the world.

The shoeboxes can be packed with school supplies, toys, clothing and accessories, personal care items, crafts and activities. Toys should not depict anything violent and liquid items should not be packed.

“A shoebox contains, we always like to say a wow gift something when the little kid opens it up they go wow and things like a jump ropes soccer balls, stuffed animals, dolls all those kind of things really get them excited” said area coordinator, Roger Gillming.

Shoeboxes from peoples homes can be used or can bought online here. If people are interested in assisting with the program, Gillming can be contacted at pastorroger.gillming@gmail.com.
